Welcome to Mark Turnbull
Mark Turnbull has had more than 35 years’ extensive experience in the Australian wine industry, holding a wide range of technical and management positions.
Having graduated in Oenology from the world-renowned Roseworthy Agricultural College, Mark worked as chief winemaker and winery manager for some of Australia's major wine companies, providing him with a broad understanding of production costs, wine style selection and wine markets. Vintage postings in Europe, mainly France, and the US provided further international technical expertise.
Mark has shared his knowledge both as a lecturer in Oenology and as manager of the acclaimed Roseworthy Hickinbotham Wine Science Laboratory at the Waite Campus of the University of Adelaide.
Immediately prior to jointly establishing Turnbull Wine Co with his brother Paul – also a Roseworthy graduate, where Mark is currently Director of Winemaking, he was Managing Director of Belvidere Winery where he oversaw the construction and operation of the winery. Belvidere has enjoyed significant expansion and success since that time.
With his enormous winemaking experience and extensive exposure to international markets, Mark is especially well placed to develop premium wines with special appeal to export markets.
