Welcome to Fleurieu Distillery
Gareth Andrews, Owner
Gold in Australia and gold in the United States! The Fleurieu Distillery at Goolwa Wharf has just begun its second year of whisky releases with a flourish of gold and silver awards. National and international recognition through the Australian Distilled Spirits Awards and the American Distilling Institute acknowledges Goolwa’s local distillery is producing outstanding single malt whisky.
Distillers Gareth and Angela Andrews believe authentic whisky carries with it a sense of place from where it was created – a blend of terroir and the philosophies of those who distilled it.

The highest quality grain, premium Mount Lofty spring water and carefully chosen yeast profiles create the perfect spirit to age in aged port and sherry barrels. In the distillery’s maritime environment, the handcrafted whisky develops its expressive maple and vanilla oak overtones mixed with spicy sea-air aromas.
These elegantly combine to create a smooth bodied character that comes only from maturation on the southern coast.
Fleurieu whiskies achieved countrywide recognition recently in the Australian Distilled Spirit Awards. These awards are from Australia’s only national competition, which focus solely on spirits manufactured within Australia. This year the competition attracted 295 entries and spirits were assessed by 16 of Australia’s leading industry experts over two days in late March. The Fleurieu Distillery was awarded gold for their heavily peated whisky Bogart & Bacall and also received 2 silver and 3 bronze for whiskies in other categories.
Further afield in Portland, Oregon, at the American Distilling Institute Awards, River’s End was awarded the Gold Medal, Best of Category, and Best of Class Trophy in the Certified Craft Distilled Spirit – International Whiskey section. Atlantic Crossing gained Silver and a Best of Category in the Certified Craft Distilled Spirit – International Smoked Whiskey section.
With only 800 bottles produced in 2018, the Atlantic Crossing is being released through limited artisanal channels and Artisan Selections is the only distributor outside of Australia.
